Guards should be inspected as part of the machine maintenance schedule.
A guard should be replaced if there are:
- Visible cracks or tearing
- Bulges or dents from impact
- Holes (unless provided by the manufacturer or for mounting purposes)
Guards should be cleaned with a nonabrasive plastic cleaner such as SlideĀ® Plastic Cleaner with Foamaction.
Guards should never be cleaned with ammonia based cleaning products (such as glass cleaner).
Yellowing of PETG (transparent) guards is not a priority concern as the guards are manufactured from PETG plastic, not polycarbonate.
