How Do Bearing Covers Attach to the Bearings?

by | Jul 15, 2014 | Machine Guarding Solutions

How do bearing covers attach to the bearings? This is one of the most commonly asked questions. Fortunately, it is one of the easiest questions to answer!

Our bearing covers are designed to fit over the entire housing of the bearing. There is a ⅝” flange around our bearing covers. Our customers typically drill through the flange of the bearing cover directly into the machine, and secure the cover with machine screws or self-tapping screws.

If there are any obstructions for the bearing cover, the cover can easily be modified or cut to fit with any metal or woodworking tools.

This method ensures a cover that won’t fall off when struck, and also meets the OSHA requirements.

See our Flanged Bearing Cover Installation Guide for more instructions.
