Round flanged covers can be used to cover protruding shafts and gears. Significant extra height can be gained by manufacturing the covers in a stacked manner. Round flanged covers are also called bearing caps or shaft caps Round flanged covers are usually fastened to the structure the bearing is attached to by the flange, drilling two holes in the flange and the underlying structure. It is advised to use self-tapping screws or nuts and bolts. Available in 3/16″ heavyweight plastic and 1/8″ lightweight plastic. The lightweight material is intended for less abusive environments. Note: Part of the flange can be trimmed if there are interference issues.

What kind of prints or drawings do you need to tool a custom part?
We have made tools from simple hand drawn sketches, and still can for simple projects. For more complex projects we prefer working with solid models in IGES or STEP format.
Are your guards OSHA approved?
OSHA does not approve guards. Our guards and other products, if installed correctly, meet OSHA requirements for most applications. For more information see OSHA Machine Guarding Standards.
