Uncovered bearings and rotating shafts can cause injury on the shop floor. Machine Guard & Cover’s bearing covers fit over the entire housing of the bearing, ensuring safety. Our plastic bearing covers are secured with self-tapping screws, making our bearing covers safer than snap-on bearing caps, and conforming to the strictest ANSI standards.
2-Bolt Bearing Covers
2-Bolt bearing covers or bearing caps are for covering most 2-bolt flanged bearings. All 2-bolt bearing covers have clearance for grease fittings. MGC’s bearing covers are universal and fit over the entire housing of the bearing. Although they have been modeled after certain bearing brands, they are not brand specific. 2-Bolt bearing covers are usually fastened to the structure the bearing is attached to by the flange, drilling two holes in the flange and the underlying structure. Pillow block bearing covers or bearing caps are for covering pillow block bearings. ANSI/ASME B.15-1994/6, Section 3.2.1 recommends that bearing covers enclose all exposed rotating shafts. A slot can be made in one side if a shaft protrudes on one side only. Slots can be made on both sides for a through shaft. Pillow block bearing covers are usually fastened to the structure the bearing is attached to by the flange, drilling two holes in the flange and the underlying structure. It is advised to use self-tapping screws or nuts and bolts. Available in our standard 3/16″ heavyweight plastic and 1/8″ lightweight plastic. How do we set up an account?

What kind of prints or drawings do you need to tool a custom part?
We have made tools from simple hand drawn sketches, and still can for simple projects. For more complex projects we prefer working with solid models in IGES or STEP format.
Are your guards OSHA approved?
